Meeting with the guide at the hotel and transfer to the Cachapoal Valley located 100 km approx south Santiago. Our journey begins with the visit to the winery Anakena, whose wines are exported to more than 40 countries in the world and constantly praised by the experts. The Premium tour ends with a tasting of wines of the premium line “ONA”. After having lunch at its charming restaurant, we continue to the boutique winery Altair (Grandes Vinos de San Pedro), also located at Cachapoal valley. We do a walk through the vineyards, followed by a visit to the warehouse with its modern gravity-induced design. The tour ends with a tasting of its Ultra Premium wines Sideral, Cabo de Hornos and Altair (icon wine of the winery). Finally transfer to Santa Cruz, located in the heart of the Colchagua valley, Famous for the production of Syrah and Carmenere wines, this valley is the most prestigious wine area in Chile.
Our journey begins with the visit to the winery Mont Gras to do an interesting tasting “blind” with exquisite red wines. Since the first plantation (1993), the winery’s aim was to produce the best premium wines in Chile. Afterwards we continue to the winery Viu Manent. Founded in 1935, it has consolidated its position as a Chilean winery of excellence, producing fine wines only with own grapes. The tour includes a visit to the old residence to learn about the history of the winery, and a visit of the vineyards on a vintage horse-drawn carriage. The tour ends with a tasting of their wines. After having lunch at its prestigious restaurant, we visit Casa Lapostolle / Clos Apalta winery, which is exclusively dedicated to the production of its wine Clos Apalta, recognized worldwide. Here we can observe how the gravity plays a very important role in the careful creation of the wine, where the wine-culture and the design combine to the perfection. The tour includes a tasting of 3 wines of Casa Lapostolle.
We leave the marvelous Colchagua valley and we continue by a coastline road to Rosario & Casablanca valley, where white vines as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are produced. On the way pass by the Beach of Santo Domingo and the port of San Antonio, one of the most important in Chile. We arrive to the small village of Lo Abarca where the boutique winery Casa Marin is located. We visit the cave and the vineyards, ending the tour with a tasting of wines of the line Casa Marin. Finally we arrive to the Rosario valley where the charming winery Matetic is located. Established in 1999, the vineyard has an area of 9,000 hectares, 90 of them are in all-organic soils and are producing 100% natural grapes. Visit of the wine cellar including a tasting of Premium wines of the line “Equilibrio”.
We can not return to Santiago before visiting Valparaiso, This picturesque city and port is hanging on the hills, and its historic centre was declared World Heritage by UNESCO. We visit the heart of the city, Sotomayor Square and Pratt pier, where boat rides in the bay are offered. We can take the Ancient elevators up to the hills where we have a wonderful view of the bay and colourful houses. We return to Santiago in the afternoon.
