Car rental. Suggested itinerary: we continue by the lake road to reach the village of Puerto Varas located on the shores of lake Llanquihue. On the way we pass by the charming village of Puerto Octay, and the elegant town of Frutillar, well-known for its German-style architecture.

We continue to the fishermen village of Puñihuil and sail to 3 little islands to watch the Magellanic and Humboldt penguins. This is the unique place in Chile where both species nest (from the 2nd fortnight of September until the end of March). Afterwards we reach the village of Castro, known for its stilt houses, San Francisco church, and handicraft market. On the way we can visit some of the 16 churches declared world heritage by the UNESCO.

We departure towards the village of Dalcahue to see its picturesque market, where craftsmen of the whole island gather to sell their wool fabrics. Afterwards, you can board the ferry to Quinchao Island to visit the small villages of Curaco de Velez and Achao. Later drive northwards visiting the small village of Quicavi. The local mythology says that the “cave” where the members of the Grand Lodge of Wizards of Chiloe meet, is right here.
